Centre for Sustainability of Ecosystem and Earth Resources (Pusat ALAM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) was established as a Centre of Excellence (CoE) on 18 February 2018. Pusat ALAM was formed through the merging of Rare Earth Research Centre (RERC) and Centre of Earth Resources Research and Management (CERRM). Pusat ALAM research niche areas include:

a) Critical and strategic metal and mineral resources processing;
b) Water resources and wastewater treatment;
c) Soil stability and infrastructure maintenance;
d) New energy generation based on waste and secondary resources; and
e) Sustainable management of industrial and domestic waste recycling

These niche areas are closely related to sustainable aspects encompassing socioeconomic, environmental rehabilitation and societal harmony aspiration dimensions.

a) To establish research & innovation collaboration with industries & academia centred on sustainable mineral & critical metal resources.
b) To produce outstanding researchers & graduates in the field of sustainable ecosystem & earth resources.
c) To develop innovative & advanced mineral & critical metal separation technology.
